The appropriate comparative values in groups on the diet and in controls showed a significant linear relation between total serum protein, renin activity of plasma, renin substrate level of plasma and systolic blood pressure. In the kidney of rats on protein free diet, the renin concentration was not lower than in controls unlike the plasma renin activity. It was further shown that the effect of diet produced a lower pressor reaction to angiotensin II. | |
