Tartalmi kivonat:The death of Federico García Lorca in August 1936 was the gloomy and symbolic opening of the Spanish Civil War lasting for three years. After 1936 the strategy of the Franco regime was the endless concealment in connection with the death and work of the Andalusian poet, therefore in the first decades of the dictatorship, people were not allowed to talk about Lorca in Spain. This study analyses, on the one hand, the reason of the murder and the people responsible –by making a summary from the related bibliography–, on the other hand, it examines the interpretation of the poet’s death in the Spanish press between 1936-1975.
