Tartalmi kivonat:As a student of the faculty of arts of the university in Szeged, Tivadar Putnik (1929–1998) took part in the foundation of the fi rst revolutionary organization of 1956, the Association of Hungarian University and College Students (AHUCS). What is more, at the general assembly on 16th October, 1956, he was the fi rst to draw up political claims: among others, the demand that the occupying soviet troops should leave the country. As a consequence, in March 1957, he had to fl ee Hungary with his whole family, so he left for Yugoslavia. As Tivadar Putnik himself put it in 1991: “I took part in the events of the war of independence”. Because of this, the Hungarian state security organizations were collecting data about him until 1973. Th e sources of the present study are the Budapest Historical Archives of the Hungarian State Security and the documents found in Tivadar Putnik’s legacy.
