Since Danube floods are largely dependent on precipitation and temperature conditions of the Danube's western catchment area, floods of the Danube refer to the conditions much larger than the Carpathian Basin itself. Referring to the period 1000-1500, in the present paper an overview of recorded Danube flood events, is provided, and information concerning individual flood records is presented. Moreover, the types, strength and weaknesses, uncertainties of the available source materials are discussed. |
