| Tartalmi kivonat: | The paper deals with the religious life of the village Balástya. Earlier this farmstead territory was called as Szeged Uppercenter. Because of the distance of the villages the inhabitants on the farmsteads did not attend the Roman Catholic masses regularly. As a compensation they took part in common prayers in the so-called praying houses. Etelka Tóth was the leader of the praying houses. She not only led the prayers and wasthe organiser ofthe Rosary confraternity, but also educated the believers and strengthened their faith. From the 1960s the number of the participants at these common prayers decreased. After the death of Etelka Tóth in 1975 common prayers have come to an end. |
