Tartalmi kivonat:After short theoretical introduction, the first part of the article try to the analyse the different narratives on the notion and the role of the state. Several state theories such as traditional, autoriter, pluralist cooperativ, liberal and socialist are presented later. They all have specific historical, national and institutional background with special consequences. In the XXI century a new phenomenon has been emerging: the cooperative state. It means that the traditional role of the state has changed and a new, network type cooperation among the public, private and non-profit sector came to the fore. Governance means a new division of labour and responsibilities of different sectors. On the other hand citizens are also expected to recognise the neccesity of the revision of their traditional attitudes to the state. The conclusion of the analyses is the necessity a new social contract between the state and the people in order to achieve a more democratic, effective and transparent society in near future.
