| Tartalmi kivonat: | The Living Rosary Association, a renewed form of the rosary confraternity, is principally an association of the lower social strata, a form of female devotion in Hungary. The reasons for its popularity are its democratic nature and the clear religious goals: it provides the faithful with an institutional frame for their charitable activity; it sets easily performed tasks for its members; it requires the acceptable coordination of individual and communal forms of religious practice. It protects and cultivates pilgrimages, and different paraliturgical customs. It possesses a rich and colourful collection of religious songs and prayers. The rosary as a tool also varies in form, material, and colour. The rosary as an organisation formed a special organization-culture. The membership of the rosary confraternity offered and still offers its members the possibility of salvation through the certainty of faith. This gives the members the security of hope for the future. |
