| Tartalmi kivonat: | For years, EU environmental policy has placed great emphasis on innovation in environmentally friendly technologies. The Lisbon Strategy has also set the goal of using research and innovation to make the EU competitive with other leading economic powers in the world. The challenges of our time – pollution, resource use, overpopulation, and global environmental problems – have made it necessary to develop the concept of eco-innovation, which focuses on the negative impacts on the environment. Sustainability is a key driver of innovation, and revolutionary innovations are being developed in almost every sector of the economy to help achieve this. Among the environmental benefits of ecoinnovation are that it can support sustainable environmental growth; reduce emissions; and produce more environmentally friendly products and services. And social benefits include contributing to sustainable social development. The EU has the technological capacity to become a major player in green products, processes and services. Sustainable development requires a new approach from social and economic actors. Today, a significant number of companies have integrated the concept of sustainability into their operations, for example through the use of environmentally friendly technologies, which is an important form of eco-innovation. With a high level of knowledge, new results, new value, innovation can be created and widely disseminated and applied, and environmental strategies can be established and implemented with moral responsibility. |
