| Tartalmi kivonat: | In recent decades, a number of French and English-language publications have discussed the French Revolution from an emotional history perspective. This paper will attempt to present their methodology, report on their results and occasionally criticize certain aspects of their approach. The history of emotions attempts to bring new areas of human existence under systematic historiographical scrutiny, obviously enriching our knowledge and complexity of the past, but the cardinal question for any such expansive effort is whether the representatives of the new paradigm can meaningfully combine their achievements with those of more traditional forms of historiography. |
