The history of emotions attempts to bring new areas of human existence under systematic historiographical scrutiny, obviously enriching our knowledge and complexity of the past, but the cardinal question for any such expansive effort is whether the representatives of the new paradigm can meaningfully combine their achievements with those of more traditional forms of historiography. | |
