Tartalmi kivonat:The research examines the role of weak and strong ties in the development of lawyers' careers. The relevance of the topic is that in the legal profession, relational capital plays a key role in client acquisition, professional support and career advancement. The theoretical framework for the research is provided by Granovetter's theory of the 'power of weak ties' and Bourdieu's theory of capital, and is closely related to the research on networks of relationships by Ágnes Utasi, which emphasises the role of social capital and trust in mobility. Previous empirical research suggests that weak ties play an important role in access to new opportunities, while strong ties provide stability and trust capital. The research is based on a qualitative analysis of eight semi-structured interviews. The results show that weak ties mainly provide access to new clients and information, while strong ties, especially through friends and mentors, can act as a bridge to facilitate this. The role of political connections is mixed, and there is also a conscious abstention. The results contribute to a deeper understanding of the role of social capital in the mobility of the professional middle class.
