| Tartalmi kivonat: | This thesis examines the reasons and circumstances of the dragon image's genesis, the changes in functions of dragons that they must have played in the life of their creators. My intention is to study these creatures' "evolution" focusing on Celtic and Hungarian legends, sagas and folktales. Using the method of comparative analyses my intention is to find and try to interpret the possible reasons of any significant alterations or similarities. I will demonstrate that dragons and the different motifs related to them accurately mark the religious conditions, geographical features, historical events, and also the way of life of their creators. |
