| Tartalmi kivonat: | The paper examines a dimension of equal treatment that has received relatively little academic and legal attention, but is expected to become increasingly important in the digital society: discrimination by association. Discrimination by association broadens the scope of the protected characteristics associated with the requirement of equal treatment, allowing protection to be enjoyed not only by those who actually possess the protected characteristic, but also by those who are disadvantaged through their relationship with a person who possesses it. The aim of the paper is to contribute to the academic analysis of discrimination by association, by elaborating the Hungarian and the European (EU and Council of Europe) practice. |
